Ground rules
Working together
The ground rules are here - not in the fine print.
How an engagement starts, how we quote and bill, who owns what at the end: if you want to know that before the first conversation, it's on this page. No legalese, no surprises later.
How it starts
It starts with an assessment, not a sales call. You tell us what needs doing - we tell you what we think of it, what ballpark it's in, and whether we're the right people for it. If we're not, we say that too.
For a project
Anything with real scope gets a written offer with clear agreements: what's delivered, by when, at what price. Work starts once that's right for you.
For a small job
No offer ceremony for small things. You get a short confirmation of what it costs and when it'll be done - then it gets done.
How we quote and bill
You won't find price figures on this site, and that's deliberate: what something costs depends on its scope, and nobody honestly knows that in advance. What we can lay open is the mechanics - they're the same on every engagement.
Fixed prices for projects
A project with a defined scope gets a fixed price. It's in the offer before you commit - not an open bill that grows.
Payment in stages
Larger projects are paid in stages: part on signing, part along the way, the rest on delivery. Never everything up front.
Small jobs by effort
Small jobs are billed by effort. If something turns out to be bigger than it looked, you hear it from us before it gets more expensive.
Operations as a monthly package
Ongoing care comes as a fixed monthly package with a clear hours budget - or by effort, if you only need us now and then.
You'll get a ballpark for your plans in the first conversation - free and without obligation.
While we work
A reply within one working day
You write, and you hear from us within one working day - with an answer, or a quick interim note if the answer needs longer.
One person, one channel
You talk to the person building your project - by email, and at the table when a topic belongs there. No ticket system, no queue.
If something's off, you hear it first
If something slips or the scope shifts, you learn it from us - before it shows in the result, not after. Agreements get adjusted, not quietly broken.
Who owns what
That's settled per engagement - the answer differs depending on what we build. Which is exactly why it's written into the offer before you commit: for the website, content, domain, accounts and code, one by one. You know beforehand, not on the way out.
What you can count on either way: we don't build lock-in. What we build is documented and structured so someone else could take it over - which is also our answer to the fair question of what happens if someone at a small studio drops out. And if you ever leave, you get an orderly handover, not a pile of files.
Where your data lives
Where your website runs and where mailboxes, files and backups live is your call. We choose the location together, project by project: Switzerland, Europe, or a US service when it's the best fit for your case. Your choice goes into the offer, in writing.
And you always know what runs where. For every part of your setup we tell you straight which provider is behind it and which law applies there. If you ever want to move, you can - away from us included.
More on this: your data, your callAfter delivery
Handover doesn't have to be the end. We run what we build: website upkeep, M365 administration, one place to bring the small stuff. The ongoing offer has its own page.
